We have been spending our summer vacation in Croatia for 40 years. We are great fans of Croatia. This is the fourth time in a row that we have come to the Šimuni Camp during the pre-season period. I’ve been diagnosed with asthma two years ago and I have to say that staying at the Šimuni Camp is for me not only a health benefit; the Mediterranean climate and a 7-day stay at the camp are enough to make me forget all the medical aids that I usually use to fight asthma.

We try to visit the Šimuni Camp as often as possible because here we simply feel great.

Our son’s experience inspired us to visit the Šimuni Camp. This was our first time here and before our booked departure, we informed our son that we would be staying a little longer. Together with him, we run a company and, as we did not want to leave everything for him to worry about, we had planned to come home sooner. Nevertheless, our son understood why we didn't; we simply wanted to stay. We are delighted with the beautiful bays we cruised and discovered daily on our boat. This is a perfect place for a boat ride, diving and surfing. Good, cheap food and nice people. The weather in the pre- and post-season periods is simply great. What is also commendable is that the camp operates all year round and offers active vacation. We will surely return!!

I travel exclusively during the off-season. I stumbled across the Šimuni Camp because it is one of the rare camps open all year round. Crystal clear sea, beautiful bays. I will surely return next year. The offer for adults has made my decision even easier to make. I enjoyed two weeks at the camp and paid for only eight days. This is a good tip for all those who make their vacation choices according to the price.

We have been spending our summer vacation in Croatia for 28 years. During the first 23 years, each summer we would visit the same camp in Istria. However, the relations with the locals were bothering us for years. We always felt that we, as tourists, were bothering them. Six year ago, aware of the entire situation, we went to Central Dalmatia, visited the Island of Pag and came across the Šimuni Camp. We were allowed to keep our camper in the camp all year round, which is a practice most camps have abandoned long ago. And the camp is open all year round!!! We can now visit the camp at least six times a year to relax from stress in a peaceful environment. We travel 1200 km to the camp but the long ride always pays off because vacationing in the pre- and post-season periods is great and recuperating.

We have been traveling throughout the Adriatic region for years now in our camper. Five years ago we accidentally drove to the Island of Pag and came across the Šimuni Camp. Already after the kind welcome at the reception and the first impression of the physical arrangement of the Šimuni Camp, we knew that it was an ideal place for spending a vacation. We were thrilled by the crystal clear sea and the beautiful sandy beach. This camp holds a Blue Flag, which symbolizes both a clean sea and a clean environment. Each year candidates must try hard and satisfy all the criteria to be awarded a Blue Flag. The camping spaces surrounded by oleander flowers resemble terraces, allowing all and not just the first-row campers to enjoy the beautiful sea view. The climate is very beneficial for us; an elixir of youth for the lungs and the bronchi. On our long walks through the camp, we are always accompanied by the scent of rosemary and sage. Since our first accidental arrival, we have been coming to this beautiful Dalmatian camp twice a year (in the pre- and post-season periods). Still, each vacation must come to an end. However, we do not worry about that because at our departure we already know that we will be returning soon.

We booked our stay at the camp through a catalogue. The description of the camp suited our needs and wishes and the accommodation in mobile homes was exactly what we had been looking for. There are three of us, and each bedroom is equipped with a bathroom and toilet. We loved the intact nature and the beautiful beach. The price and quality ratio, the good food and the rich buffet service have left a good impression on us. The post season here is exceptionally beautiful and unbelievably peaceful. No one disturbs us and there is no loud music. The entire region in which the Šimuni Camp is situated is known for the exceptionally beautiful weather. As a photographer, I was fascinated by the landscape, the graphic arrangement and the diversity of the animal world. In the post-season I was delighted by the colorful butterflies and the pleasant pine scent. We will definitely return to the Šimuni Camp.

We have been great fans of Croatia and camping for 24 years. For a long time we camped in Istria. However, in 2003 as longtime campers we were no longer interesting or profitable and were removed from the camp. Then we started looking for a new coast. We had been searching the Internet for a long time before stumbling across the Šimuni Camp. Being quite flexible in arranging accommodation, the camp immediately put several camping spaces at our disposal. We were looking for year-round accommodation for our camper and a camp open all year round, however even mere photos of the Šimuni Camping Village were enough for us to decide to come and visit it. When we came to the camp, we saw that the intact nature there looked even more beautiful than in the photos. We have been coming here for six years now, and the friendly atmosphere, the kind staff and the mere place where we are spending our well-deserved vacation leave no wish unfulfilled. We come here as often as we can, and cruise and enjoy the surrounding islands, which simply invite you to explore them, on our motor boat. These islands are unique in Europe and entice all sailors sailing on motor or sailing boats to visit them. The quality and price ratio is perfect and we are very satisfied here.

We are one big group of friends and families that spends weekends and summer vacations together. For a while we traveled to Spain together with 5-6 families. The sea in Spain is quite turbulent and dangerous for our children and our boat. We also weren’t satisfied with the berth provided for our boat, so we decided to come here and explore Croatia. The numerous islands make the sea very calm. We are also more satisfied with the berthing possibilities offered here and the costs are more favorable as Euro has still not been introduced here. 

The Šimuni Camp confirmed our booking instantly and we, together with our friends, decided to make a considerable investment and buy a camping place close to the beach. We were impressed by the newly built section and the nicely maintained beaches, so that we soon signed the sales agreements. We are very excited and can't wait to start the journey.

My husband has a lot of business obligations. He always travels between Cologne and the USA and when he comes home for a few days, he likes to go somewhere and relax. I sat at the computer and started investigating the weather forecast for the post-season (October), looking for the warmest place in Croatia. I was already picturing taking my family on a journey to Dubrovnik in my mind, but things turned out completely different. The weather forecast showed that the warmest part of Croatia was the Zadar Region, especially the Island of Pag. Ok, I thought, Pag isn't too far. Now all we need is a nice camp, a bungalow or a mobile home close to the sea.

By entering the words Pag Island and camp in the search engine, I found the Šimuni Camp immediately. I made the booking via phone in German without any difficulty. 14 days of great vacation in the post-season was so relaxing. Everything was clean... I made the right choice. I was happy that my husband left it to me to choose the place for our vacation and even more glad that my entire family loved my choice. The children spent all the time in the sea. The slightly sloping beach was great for them. They felt safe and played happily. We stayed in a very spacious mobile home. The price and quality ratio was good and we would recommend this camp to anyone. In the end, we stayed two days longer and upon our departure we booked our stay for the year to come.
