Dog beach

Camp Šimuni has two beaches for pets! There is a fenced area on Two Sailors beach and a fenced area on Sea Pearl beach. The beaches are well-maintained, fenced, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. There’s also access to the sea, showers, etc.

Important to know!

Rules of conduct on dog beaches:
  • The dog you bring to the beach should be socialized.
  • Keep your dog on a leash.
  • Bring hygiene supplies with you.
  • Clean up after your dog.
  • Rinse the area where the dog has urinated.
  • Even though you are at a dog beach, always keep your dog under control.
  • Ensure your dog does not disturb other guests and dogs on the beach.
  • The dog beach is intended for guests with dogs; it is not a space where children can play carefree.
  • If you come to the dog beach without a pet, please refrain from making sudden movements, playing loud music, and/or transporting large objects across the beach (inflatable toys, SUPs, kayaks, etc.) to avoid disturbing the dogs and prompting unexpected reactions.
Other important notes:
  • Be sure to bring a water bowl and enough cold water for your dog.
  • Bring towels to dry your dog.
  • Shade is as important for dogs as it is for humans, so if the beach doesn’t have natural shade, bring a parasol or a beach tent.
  • Apply sunscreen to your dog.
  • Contrary to popular belief, both humans and dogs can get sunburned if they are in shallow water because the water allows the rays of the sun that cause skin reddening to pass through. Dogs with pink noses and skin, shaved dogs, dogs with light fur, or hairless breeds are most at risk.
  • It is especially important to apply sunscreen to areas where there is less fur, such as the dog’s nose and ears (especially if they stick out and if the hair inside the ears is plucked), as well as on the belly and groin if the dog likes to lie on its back. You should apply sunscreen to your dog at least 30 minutes before sun exposure.
IMPORTANT WARNING

Puppies under four months of age are not allowed on the beach. Puppies are particularly sensitive to overheating, and their lives may be in danger due to the heat. They may also have a bad experience with other dogs on the beach as they are still learning socialization.
